2019 Honda Ridgeline in Farmington Hills

The contemporary truck market has plenty of options to choose from. Though, few are actually designed to help drivers with regular, real-life driving needs. Manufacturers tend to focus on making largest truck with the most horsepower and flashiest styling. They're impressive on paper but can be cumbersome in real-world applications. Honda has counteracted this conundrum with its own new truck: the 2019 Honda Ridgeline.

The 2019 Ridgeline is a truck that addresses the common performance, comfort, and utility that regular drivers near West Bloomfield and Livonia need. It's a smooth-riding vehicle with a practical pickup bed and the ability to tow small trailers.

Midsize Truck Performance Redefined

The 2019 Ridgeline deliberately deviates from the prescribed formula for midsize trucks, focusing instead on enhancing the elements that affect drivers every day. The key difference is in the truck's underpinnings. Most midsize trucks use a body-on-frame design. This can moderately improve strength for towing and off-roading but results in a much harsher ride quality. Ride quality is diminished even further by the rear axle design typically employed with these trucks.

Instead, Honda opted for a unibody design with independent suspension for the 2019 Ridgeline. This choice has multifold benefits for the Ridgeline, including reduced weight, improved ride quality, and more. This design choice doesn't mean the 2019 Ridgeline lacks capability, however.

The 2019 Ridgeline gets a standard V6 engine with 280 horsepower and a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. It's available in simple front-wheel drive or dynamic all-wheel drive that's ready to handle harsher conditions around Westland or Southfield. It's a truck that's designed to handle the common tasks that most drivers encounter in daily driving.

Utility in Design

A distinct advantage in the 2019 Ridgeline is its innovative bed design. It features an in-bed trunk with 7.3-cubic feet of extra cargo space. It even has a drain plug at the bottom, so you can use the space as a built-in cooler. The bed itself is large enough to a 4' by 8' sheet of plywood. Available in-bed power plugs make the space even more versatile.

Practical Cabin with Upscale Options

Practicality and comfort work in tandem inside the 2019 Ridgeline.

Every new 2019 Ridgeline comes with the same four-door design and space for five passengers. Both the front and rear passengers have plenty of space to get comfortable. You'll be able to choose between cloth and leather upholstery, while a leather-wrapped steering wheel comes standard. Features like Push Button Start and a Dynamic Color Display in the gauge cluster are standard as well. If you need to stow larger cargo in the cabin, you can quickly fold up the rear seats to make extra room available.

Active Safety

Since the 2019 Ridgeline is a larger vehicle, Honda saw fit to offer several standard and available driver assistance features with it.

Blind Spot Visibility provides audible and visible alerts to let you know that there are cars in low-visibility areas.

Honda Lane Watch feeds a live view of the side of your vehicle into the center display.

Multi-Angle Rearview Camera helps you see what's behind your 2019 Ridgeline.

Available Honda SensingĀ® equips the 2019 Ridgeline with Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist System.
